How do I find out your iPad’s model number?

All iPads have a model number, below are two methods you can use to find out your iPad’s model number.

Method 1

The easiest way to know what type of iPad you own is to find your device’s model number. With this method you don’t need to turn on your device to know the model number, all you need to do is look at the back of your device and you will see iPad emblazoned there, and underneath, there’ll be smaller print, including the capital letter A, followed by a series of numbers.

That is your device’s model number. You can use this method if you have your iPad in a case and don’t want to take it out.

Method 2

• Turn on your iPad and open the Setting app
• Tap General
• Tap About
• Scroll down the page, you will see a section entitled Model. The longer number that ends with the letter A is your iPad’s SKU number which gives information about your iPad’s capacity and the country it is registered in.
• Click the Model section, and you will get a shorter number that begins with the letter A that’s your model number.
