The second quarter of the year comes to finish at the end of this month, August. And just as usual, the second quarter of the year is always the slowest one for Apple iPhone sales.
However, despite that, iPhones still topped US Q2 smartphone sales. Counterpoint Research includes the snippet in a new report today.
“Apple iPhones remain the most popular models across both online and offline channels.”
The report is focused on performance of the online sales channel, it notes that apple.com did see the expected downturn in online sales, sitting in 4th place with 8% of online smartphone sales. Amazon took the top slot, at 23% of the market, followed by Verizon at 12% and Best Buy’s 9%.
Apple iPhones topped US Q2 smartphone sales, but in the worldwide picture, Gartner reports that Huawei overtook Apple in Q2, a position guaranteed to be reversed in Q3.
